Happy holidays, everyone! I’m excited to finally take a moment and introduce you to a very special couple: Madison and Matthew (doesn’t that just sound perfect together?!) But first, you will need a little backstory!
When I had my first serious boyfriend in high school, it was a pretty big deal in my world. You had holidays, birthdays, family to impress, and all the fun of being young and in love in between. I’ll never forget what it felt like having his little sister excited to see me or his Mom asking me to help bake Christmas cookies. It truly was the best feeling! While sixteen didn’t last forever, those wonderful people have stayed in touch and even kept up with my photography journey too. I didn’t know it then, but little sister was an “SVP Bride” even before Southern Vintage Photography existed.
Madison’s brother (the boy that has a special place in my heart) texted me earlier this year and broke the news of Madison’s engagement. I was beyond excited for them and pleased to see Madison so happy with Matthew. A couple of weeks later I got THE call from Madison asking if I’d come to Georgia and photograph her wedding in November. Watching this amazing person transform from “little sister” to the beautiful bride has been the highlight of my year.
Madison and Matthew met at Mississippi State and became fast friends. After being together through college, long-distance, and the real world these two knew they were ready to take the next step. With friends and family present, Matthew proposed to Madison in February and began their journey towards marriage.
Mr. and Mrs. Gaydon were married on November 22, 2020, in Douglasville, Georgia at Foxhall. The weather was perfect just like the series of events that brought us all together. Madison had a “first look” with her Dad and brother that makes me tear up every time I go through the images. The intimate “first look” and washing of the feet that Madison and Matthew shared was one of the most spiritual things I’ve ever witnessed. And it might be my Georgia roots, but I’m a big fan of how Madison incorporated her love for Coca-Cola! I can go on and on about this wedding, but we all know it would be easier if I showed you! Enjoy!
Wishing Madison + Matthew all the happiness in the world!
Special thanks to all the wonderful vendors who helped create their perfect day!
