When I arrived at our last wedding of 2019, it began like most others. I greeted the girls finishing up their hair and makeup, said hello to the vendors, and began to collect the bride’s wedding accessories. As I was setting up in an adjacent hallway, the mother of the bride came out to bring me a few more things. These were not your traditional wedding details, but things that held a lot of meaning to the bride’s family. As Mrs. Donoghue handed me a new item she would fill me in on what made them so special. A true spoon ring, a delicate lace handkerchief, and a beautiful pocket watch. As someone who is passionate about telling stories through photographs, I loved every minute of this and couldn’t wait to capture the bride as she received them.
There were so many amazing things about this wedding that still make me smile. The perfect weather, how everything ran precisely on time, an unforgettable couple and all the thought they put into their wedding details… I could go on! I think the one thing I will cherish the most is finding my sense of direction for 2020. I want to laugh, smile, and capture more joyful couples like Bailey and Bret. I want to know how they met, got engaged, and even how that pocket watch survived a house fire. Every one of my couples’ stories are beautiful and I am completely honored to be entrusted with those memories.
Bailey and Bret were married on December 20th, 2019 in the Cedar Room of the Cigar Factory, downtown Charleston. Their wedding was filled with love, laughter, and even some happy tears. Every detail from this day had meaning, sentiment, purpose, and heart. A style that never gets old. Cheers!
