The oak trees are always greener after a good rain.
That is something I like to remember when southern storms loom over one of my weddings. Especially when the aisle is a carpet of soft green grass canopied by ancient oak trees. Rain IS everything.
I will never forget Lauren and Jackson’s wedding day. It was stormy Labor Day weekend that preceded a hurricane. The timing of the rain showers and the pending storm was impeccable. We were so lucky with our outdoor portraits and had a beautiful historic home to retreat to when the rains moved in. With some magic from an amazing vendor team, ceremony seats were wiped off and ready to go for what might be one of the most breathtaking ceremonies I’ve seen. The hurricane skated off the coast of Charleston 5 days later while the newlyweds were safely enjoying their honeymoon in Saint Lucia.
Lauren and Jackson were married at Legare Waring House on August 31st, 2019. My biggest regret from this wedding was not being able to spend more time with this couple! I loved learning more about them as their stories were told over hand-written vows and toasts. There was so much more I wanted to hear, from their time at UGA to Lauren’s first half marathon. I can only hope this SVP couple make the visit to Charleston again soon! Till then, let’s reminisce on their beautiful wedding day!
Wishing Lauren + Jackson all the happiness in the world!
Special thanks to all the wonderful vendors who help create their perfect day!
