When it rains, it pours… literally. Well, at least here in Charleston, South Carolina!
A little rain was never going to stop the dream wedding Lauren and Casey had been planning since before their engagement. These college sweethearts made it through a pandemic, wedding planning, and weathered one final storm to say “I do.” No matter what, these two were determined to tie the knot at Middleton Place overlooking the cascading lawn that flowed flawlessly into the Ashley River. They did just that, and it was absolutely breathtaking.
Lauren and Casey fearlessly took control of their wedding day and threw their timelines out the window when the threat of rain loomed. We took advantage of every break in the weather and made magic with it. From the intimate ceremony with a light drizzle to the sky opening up later in the evening for portraits, everything timed out how it was meant to be. Why get married once when you can do it twice? (on the same day to the same person of course!) While only the immediate family and the wedding party were present for the first ceremony, Lauren and Casey were able to do it all again and include their guests and additional rituals at the reception. After the second set of nuptials, the sky cleared and Lauren and Casey were more than ready to stroll the grounds of Middleton and take stunning portraits. We played with sheep, danced along the riverside, skipped through the front lawn, and captured so much love along the way!
Lauren and Casey were married twice on August 21, 2021, and we still wish we could do it again! I couldn’t think of a better couple and team of vendors to enjoy this experience with.
