Thinking about writing this wedding blog has put a smile on my face for a while now, and I still don’t know where to begin since I’ve known this bride since middle school. I remember Mercy as one of my brave friends that would let me practice taking portraits of them with my point-and-shoot camera in the backyard (yes, I am desperately trying to locate these photos). Photography was something I was interested in from such a young age, so being able to capture this wedding and see everything come full circle was incredibly humbling.
Like a lot of old friends, we grew up and went our separate ways. I haven’t seen Mercy in years, but we have always kept tabs on social media. She is a beautiful person inside and out and one of those people that I would be happy to hear from at any point in my life. I was so excited for Mercy when I saw proposal photos show up on my newsfeed one day; she is a wonderful person and deserves all the happiness in the world! Little did I know, she was keeping up with me and my photography endeavors too.
Mercy and Brad were married on June 1st, 2019 at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The church was nestled amongst tropical greenery that set a breathtaking backdrop for the portraits that followed their sacred ceremony. If the day wasn’t already beautiful enough, their families hosted a gorgeous coastal reception at The Beach House Resort with a spectacular oceanfront view. The party hall was decorated with a tropical flair and gold accents that perfectly captured this fun-loving couple’s spirit. It was truly an honor to be a part of Mercy and Brad’s special day. It was so great to finally meet Brad and see Mercy and her family again. Enough nostalgia from me, let’s see some photos!
